What We Do

Alegría Ministries believes that Jesus can transform lives.

Our focus is to be people-oriented and situation-sensitive so we can more effectively reach others.

This means being relational and loving others in a way that is meaningful to them. John 13:35 says, "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

We love the people of Guatemala! But 1 John 3:17 reads, "If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?" We've identified needs and we are compelled to respond out of love and compassion.

You can give without loving, but you can't love without giving.

Widow Ministry

"Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow." Isaiah 1:17 Widows are near and dear to the heart of the Father and the few we've met are near and dear to ours too!

Education Support

Did you know it costs money to attend school in Guatemala? While technically free, the government spends very little on education which means schools are under funded and lack many needed resources. Children are required to bring their own school supplies and pay for school uniforms, expenses many families cannot afford.

Sports Ministry

Getting kids involved in activities such as sports is a great way to teach them teamwork, self-control, and discipline. It's also a fun way to share the love of Jesus and minister to kids one on one.
