Hesitation is human nature. We can put off for years something that we could accomplish in an hour. So many times, we make excuses when we should just pin our ears back and GO.
We know our own hesitation and procrastination costs us... but do we realize that it also affects others?
As we've been examining the life of Abraham, I find myself continually revisiting God's original promises to him in the first three verses of Genesis 12.
1"Now the Lord said to Abram,
'Go forth from your country, And from your relatives,
And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you;
2 And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you,
And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing;
3 And I will bless those who bless you,
And the one who curses you I will curse.
And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.'"
God promised Abram that he would bless him. But God also mentions that He wants to use Abram to bless all of the families of the earth. See that?
When God tells us to GO, it's not just for our benefit. Marching orders from the Lord are always for the benefit of those He's sending us to, as well as for us personally. For Abram, it was literally for the blessings of all of the families of the earth!
So, when God sends you or I to do something for Him, we need to realize the depth of those orders. He's not just sending us for our own good, but He's using us to bring about His purposes of blessing in the lives of others.
We can't be slow to GO because we might be delaying someone else's blessing.
So where has God called you GO today? Why are you hesitating? Why are you going so slow? Who else is your procrastination affecting?
A self-audit in this area may help you to realize, God is asking you to step out in faith and GO.
